Format of the files:
    * lovett.xls (Microsoft Excel)
    * lovett.csv (comma delimeted ascii text file)
    
File contents: (used in Box 2-2)
    * STREAM - name of the stream (site) from which observations were collected
    * ELEVATN - site elevation (m above sea level)
    * SO4 - concentration (mmol.L-1) of sulphur dioxide ions averaged over 3 years
    * SO4MOD - SO4 variable above with one observation (72 mmol.L-1) replaced 
with a more extreme value (200 mmol.L-1)
    * CL - concentration (mmol.L-1) of chloride ions averaged over 3 years.
